morgan harper nichols

it was a cold november night when, in the middle of her twenties, morgan harper nichols broke down in tears afraid that she would never know success, would always be living paycheck to paycheck, always going down the wrong path and ending up in the wrong places. that night she wrote a poem. it was about giving up. something told her to share it. so she did. something told her to put her name on it. so she did. a few months later that poem, posted quietly to pinterest, had been shared over 100,000 times. that poem led to more poems led to art and story and the sharing of other people’s stories through her art. all of it helping all of us know that we are not alone, that we belong, and that our stories unite us.

today morgan offers her art daily via her 1.6+ million instagram followers, her podcast, her book of poetry and art, “all along you were blooming” and her many collaborations with companies like coach, adobe, live nation, aerie and more.

morgan is truly an international phenomenon who believes in the power of her voice and uses it every day to create the world she wants to live in.

Some things we talk about…

  • going from paycheck-to-paycheck to a business, two books, multiple partnerships and a massive social media following
  • the role of intuition in her art and life
  • how she stays inspired and on course
  • the value of each person’s voice and how everyone, everywhere, has something worth saying
  • and how she defines success at this point in her career

“knowing that there are people growing up who legitimately do not think they have something to say, they do not think that their voice matters—that breaks me.”

we can use art, or whatever we make, to remind us of home and remind us of what our soul already knows.”

let’s connect.

letters from my heart about what’s on my mind. the business and the personal.
