jennifer louden
it’s easy to think that the woman who pioneered the self-help movement has it all figured out. that she knows how to do life and is always enthusiastically engaged in it. but, of course, we are all human and jen louden is no different than any of us.
in her latest book, why bother: discover the desire for what’s next, jen not only teaches us how to care again and follow our desires, but what it means to struggle through all of it. to claim our yes while mired in doubt and uncertainty. to lean into the unknown but not abandon our deepest longings.
jen has written eight books including her first bestseller, the woman’s comfort book. there are close to a million copies of her books in print in nine languages. jen has spoken around the world and written a national magazine column for a martha stewart magazine. she’s been on hundreds of tv, radio shows and podcasts – including oprah.
jen teaches sold out retreats and workshops all over the country and has been offering online courses and programs since 1998.
and still, jen works every day on “bothering:” remembering why, moving forward and always staying true.
Some things we talk about…
- claiming your agency and knowing your work matters.
- how to know when to stop bothering and move on to something else?
- what to do when you don’t know what your desires are.
- how to keep choosing yourself over and over again.
- how to be vulnerable in your work and then share it with the world.
“the question I’ve had since I was little was ‘how do we keep saying yes to life? how do we keep bothering?’ when we’ve had loss and creative setbacks and we’ve made mistakes. how do we keep going?“
“at the heart of how we get our bother on is really claiming our agency. that it’s enough because we want it.”
let’s connect.
